New ME is all about becoming conscious of the power we have within us as human beings. The most potent form of fuel (potential force) we have flowing through us at all times is our breath. Without it, we have no life! It literally is the driving force that makes everything possible: thought, movement, involuntary body functions, emotion, connection, and inner guidance. Breath is also the bridge between the body and the mind. In order to harness the power within our breath, however, we must first learn to use it in a more deliberate and conscious manner.

New ME Breath and Bodywork is a method of using a rhythmic and conscious breathing pattern for the purpose of harmonizing the polarities within the human mechanism so that they may function at their highest potential. Just as we all have a right and left leg that allows us to walk, the inhale and the exhale of each breath, compliments each other in a balanced way to cleanse the body, mind, and soul. When life gets stressful, however, the balance between the two parts (inhale and exhale) no longer function properly. They actually begin to work against each other which results in stress, mental chaos, emotional anguish, fatigue, and a dark feeling of disconnection. Obviously when this occurs, the breathing itself becomes restricted and tense, rather than open and flowing.

New ME Breath and Bodywork is the science of awareness between breathing patterns and various states of being. When we consciously shift our breathing patterns, we can integrate the negative aspects of mind and emotion that cause all forms of imbalance in life. The basics of the breathing system of New ME is, it is both flowing and conscious. Breathing is said to be in a natural rhythm when there is no pauses between the inhale and exhale. Unfortunately, most humans on the planet have a pause and/or a holding on between each consecutive breath. This is not natural and it puts additional stress on the nervous system. When there is no pause in the breathing, a force of connection is created and mental and physical tension have the opportunity of getting the attention they need and deserve.

The second aspect of a New ME Breathing pattern, is that it is conscious. This literally means there is respiration with a particular knowing or knowledge. This is much more than just observing the breath though, as most would think when they use the term “conscious breathing”. In New ME breathing practices, there is a vast and profound awareness of the relationships between breath and body, focus and feeling, higher and lower individual expression, masculine and feminine, conscious and unconscious, and much more!
